Better Sleep Month With Your Chiropractor

In honor of National Better Sleep Month, we here at Lubbock Advanced Physical Medicine want to spotlight a very common problem; sleep deprivation. The average adult needs a minimum of seven hours of restful sleep every night. Unfortunately, many only average between four and six hours of sleep – and some even fewer than that.

In some cases, lack of sleep is a time management problem. Others, however, find themselves tossing and turning all night and never truly feeling rested. According to the American Chiropractic Association, 40 to 60 percent of people have difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep, often due to chronic pain and body aches. Fortunately, better sleep is possible with chiropractic treatment.

Chiropractic Sleep Treatment in Lubbock

Here at Lubbock Advanced Physical Medicine, we have many patients who have found relief from occasional or chronic insomnia by visiting our office. We offer many services that can relieve nighttime discomfort and promote better sleep, including chiropractic adjustments and sleep counseling. In fact, many of our patients are unaware of their poor quality of sleep until chiropractic treatment allows them to wake less during the night and feel more rested in the mornings.

Treatment includes spinal adjustments to promote proper back and neck alignment. Slipped discs and even tiny subluxations can cause discomfort, especially while lying in the same spot for several hours at night. Chiropractic treatment helps improve the position of the spine and its components, making sleep more comfortable and satisfying. In addition, our team can provide recommendations for lifestyle and environmental changes that may improve your sleep quality. This may include exercise, sleep schedule regulation, limited caffeine intake, and sleeping with a supportive pillow.

If you find yourself lying awake at night, if you experience trouble feeling awake, or if you have difficulty concentrating and a poor memory, it may be time to see a chiropractor. Contact our office today to schedule a consultation and find out more about how we can help you sleep better.
