How Does Pain Treatment and Rehabilitation Work?

Here at Lubbock Advance Physical Medicine, we are dedicated to helping individuals break free of their pain so that they can reduce their reliance on pain medications and anti-inflammatories and achieve physical wellness.

Common Causes of Pain

Pain can be caused by a variety of chronic and acute injuries, including whiplash, sports injuries and repetitive motion injuries. Some of the common ailments we treat include shin splints, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome and runner’s knee.

Frozen shoulder, tennis and golfer’s elbow, runner’s knee and carpal tunnel syndrome are all forms of tendonitis, which is an inflammation of overused tendons. Tendonitis can cause loss of range of motion in a joint, inflammation, swelling and pain and tenderness.

Shin splints are an inflammation of the calf muscle and other muscles of the lower leg. They can also be caused by stress fractures, flat feet and weak core muscles. Symptoms include pain in the lower leg when exercising or flexing the foot.

Whiplash generally occurs during a car accident. The head and neck are forcefully jerked beyond their normal range of motion, resulting in headaches, migraines, neck pain and loss of range of motion of the neck.

Benefits of Blended Treatment with our Chiropractor

We offer chiropractic care, massage therapy and physical rehabilitation for sports injuries, repetitive motion injuries and car accident injuries. Chiropractic care typically involves evaluating your spine and extremity joints for minor misalignments and manually correcting those misalignments. When the joints and vertebrae are out of alignment, it can lead to an increase in injuries and pain. By realigning your joints, we are decreasing your pain, increasing your range of motion and reducing inflammation.

Massage therapy relaxes your muscles, removes tight spots, promotes the release of lactic acid and improves circulation. Physical therapy involves strengthening weak and injured muscles to improve stamina, stability and range of motion.

By creating custom blended treatment plans for our patients, we are decreasing healing times and pain and facilitating health and wellness.
